AAA Softball Week 8 Game Highlights


Window Broker - 10     Maine - Hatala Orthodontics - 4
Window Broker Takes First End of Double Header - Window Broker took the first end of a double header on Saturday 10 -4. Both teams played fine defense. Hatala third baseman Jamie Pestrak and pitcher Miresa Michitti teamed up with first baseman Jordan McGinnis for several fine put outs. Window Brokers were paced by Lauren Demaree and Daniella Dean who each reached base 3 times. In addition, Annie Walikas, Erin Rush and Katrina Hatala turned nice plays in the field.

Window Broker - 10     Maine - Hatala Orthodontics - 9
Window Broker Takes Second Game of Twin Bill - In an extremely exciting game to finish the year Window Broker defeated Hatala 10 - 9 in a game that came down to the wire. Hatala was paced by four players who reached base 3 times, Marissa, Jamie, Jordon and Rebecca. Window Brokers played well in the field with Monica Ferguson making several nice plays at third base and Megan Pipa making a nice stop and tag at short stop to quell a Hatala rally. The game came down to the final Window Broker at bat and traling by 2 runs. Allie Misavage hit a deep triple with 2 girls on to tie the game. Jessica Shear had the winning RBI as she hit a hard grounder to the right side of the infield. Hatala made a nice defensive stop on the grounder and threw home but Allie Missavage was off once the ball was hit and made a great slide into home to beat the throw and score the winning run. Great game girls and great season.

Maine - Parkway Wine and Spirits - 18     Palmer Insurance - 6
Parkway outslugs Palmer - After the teams both scored the 5 maximum runs in the 1st inning, Parkway's hitters all stayed hot in a 18-6 victory over the Palmer Girls. The Palmer girls played hard and their outfielders stayed busy chasing down several hard shots by the Parkway team. Maggie Ross made 2 nice catches at 1st base and Amanda Meade went 3-3 for Palmer. Parkway was lead by Brittany Cole make several nice defensive plays and Emma Smith going 4-4.

Robinson Hill Nursery & Mulch - 17     M & T Bank - 8
Robinson Hill beats M&T in a hot game - Robinson Hill had hot bats today. Courtney Kincer, Kennedy Brown and Sam Connery went 4 for 5. Rose Natoli and Kennedy each had long hits for doubles. Jori Zimmerman, Maggie Striley, Carlee Koritkowski, Zoe Katz led M&T's offense by each going 2 for 3. Carlee also made a nice catch at Pitcher. The most exciting and aggressive play of the game was when Zoe (catcher) and Courtney (runner) both decided neither was going to give up their ground on a play at home. It was quite a collision, and great effort from both. Great team effort from all of the girls on the field today!!!

Window Broker - 18     Palmer Insurance - 3
Window Brokers Defeats Palmer Insurance - Window Brokers bats came alive with three players, Daniella Dean, Allie Missavage and Jessica Shear each reaching base five times. Brianna Davis also hit her second home run of the year with a towering drive to right center field. In addition, Daniella Dean made a nice grab on a hard line drive up the middle to quell a Palmer Insurance rally. Grace Muggeo and Michele Savoldy paced Palmer Insuranec with 3 and 2 hits respectively and Maggie Ross turned a nice solo double play by nabbing a pop up and doubling off the runner on first base.

M & T Bank - 17     Maine - Parkway Wine and Spirits - 16
M&T Wins to clinch First - M&T played a well matched Maine team out in Maine Wednesday night. The game was exciting to the end with M&T coming out on top. M&T offense was led by the hot bat of Jori Zimmerman who went 4 for 4 smashing all 4 hits over the outfielders heads for Doubles. Cassy Banker, Carlee Koritkowski, Rachel Lee and Jenna Ciganek all added 3 hits each. M&T's 3rd baseman Chloe Higgins had another double play and a line drive catch. Left fielder Cassy Banker threw a girl out at the plate with help from catcher Zoe Katz who caught the ball and slapped on the tag. Great game by both teams!

Robinson Hill Nursery & Mulch - 13     Window Broker - 5
Robinson Hill edges Window Broker - You can tell the end of the season is near when you see girls on both teams making lots of nice defensive plays as they did tonight. Alison Missavage mad a great catch of a fast line drive to pitcher for Window Broker. On offense for Window Broker, Daniella Dean's hustle got her a home run, and Alison Missavage got a triple. No one play stood out for Robinson Hill, but the girls played very well as a team. Alyssa Pochkar, Chelsea Cable and Kennedy Brown (2 doubles) went 3 for 4. Nice game girls!

Palmer Insurance - 12     Maine - Hatala Orthodontics - 8
The Palmer girls win a defensive battle. - In a well played defensive game, Palmer insurance held on for a 12-8 victory over a gritty Hatala team. With the Palmer girls missing 4 of their regulars, Katie Malak, Cassandra Banker and Jenna Ciganek stepped in and all played very well to help in the victory. Michelle Savoldy made several good defensive plays at pitcher and Mikayla Garbarino went 4-4, Grace Muggeo and Kristine Hickin each picked up 3 hits for Palmer. Hatala was led by Jordan McGinnis who collected 4 hits and also made several nice plays at 1st base. Jamie, Marrisa and Cierra each contributed 3 hits for Hatala. Great game girls!
