Major Softball Week 2 Game Highlights

O.L.Davis victory in chilly Wed. night game -
The chilly audience at Struble Field Wednesday night was warmed by a well played softball game. North Point’s Gracie Cotroneo pitched the first 4 innings and Katie Armstrong pitched the 5th. Danielle Cronk started the game off with a nice hit in the first inning. Taylor Clark made 2 fantastic hits, scored 1 run and demonstrated amazing first base coverage. Danielle Brennan hit and scored twice. Gracie Controneo and Heather Rybacki added one hit and one run to their game stats. The North Point defense kept O.L.Davis on their toes with great outfield coverage and quick in-field plays.
Davis’s Katie Greenley pitched a tremendous 2 innings and Emily Kish came in for innings 3–5. Davis’s Jenna Fetterman knocked out a double in the first inning, a base hit in the 3rd and scored one run. Kelsey Dickerman had two nice hits and scored 3 runs. Emily Kish made 1 hit and scored 2 runs. Sabrina Sholtes got on base with a nice hit and scored 1 run. Shannon Kleespies and Olivia Martino each had 2 runs under their belts. Allison Unger, Karlee Voorhees and Cara Boothroyd ran the bases well and each scored 1 run.
Maine - Sunrise Citgo - 24 North Point Technology - 8
Sunrise tops Northpoint -
Sunrise Citgo used a 3 run Home Run by Rachel Fotusky, 2 doubles by Kathryn Miller and 3 runs scored by Vanessa Brown to overcome Northpoint Technology, 24-8 on Sunday. Fotusky pitched 3 strong innings against a continually improving Northpoint team, who had their best offensive showing of the year. Gracie Controneo led the way with 2 hits, while Dani Cronk, Olivia Bridge, Katie Armstrong and Dani Brennan added hits as well. Brennan also scored 3 runs with some great base running. Heather Rybacki scored twice.

Beautiful day at Struble for a game -
On a beautiful day at Struble Park Manor had their bats produce several big hits. Kimberly Jones pitched 3 strong innings with Meredith pitching a strong 4th inning. For North Point Heather Rybacki, Mikayla Klym and Danielle Cronk all put in a good effort pitching. Sydney Bendert, Meredith Suwak, Emily Missavage, Gabby Stein, Kelly Layton and Jessica Lainhardt all had multiple hits for Park Manor with Emily and Loganne hitting home runs. Rebecca Buholski, Kimberly Jones and Rachel Ackley also had hits for Park Manor. North Point had hits by Kayla Koch, Mikayla Klym and a big 2nd inning triple by Olivia Bridge. Both teams played hard with some good in field defensive plays by both teams.

On a beautiful day, Silvestri received some timely hitting to edge OL Davis. Cassidie Codispoti pitched 5 strong innings to earn the victory. Katie Greenley pitched a fine game for OL Davis. Natalie Longo, Natalie Knight, Skyler Hoyt, and Jessie Smith each had two hits for Silvestri. Chelsea Kincer came through with a timely hit for Silvestri. Cara Boothroyd and Katie Greenley had multiple hits for OL Davis. Kelsey Dickerman, Sabrina Sholtes, and Oliva Martino each added a hit for OL Davis. Brooke Bart and Dana Connery made several nice defensive plays for Silvestri. Brooke Bart, Natalie Knight, and Natalie Longo each earned a "Silvestri Ice Cream Award".

Tight game in Maine -
Kimberly Jones pitched a strong game for Endwell Park Manor to earn the win. Rachel Fotusky pitched a strong game for Maine - Sunrise Citgo in a very close game. Park Manor started off slow but came back to time the game in the 5th inning and scored 2 in the 6th to pull out the win. Both teams played very well in a very close game that could have easily gone either way. Rachel Fotusky lead Maine in hitting with 2 hits along with hits from Danielle Gomolka, Vanessa Brown, Trichka and Davis. Meredith came up with a big triple in the 4th and a single in the 1st, MaryKate Guilfoyle had 2 hits and Logan DiRusso had a single. Several players also had good catches in the infield and outfield including a big pop fly out by Kelly Layton.

Both teams played excellent defense. Josie Trichka and Brianna Davies each had a hit for Sunrise. Natalie Longo and Skyler Hoyt each had a hit for Silvestri. The following girls scored for Sunrise: Vanessa Brown, Trichka, Davies, Danielle Gomolka, Juliana Vicari, and Megan Olivieri. Natalie Knight, Hoyt, and Kelly Johnston scored for Silvestri. Kassandra Hizny, Natalie Longo, and Skyler Hoyt each earned a "Silvestri Ice Cream Award".
